Gillie Shanowitz, otherwise known as 'Morah Gillie', is the director of New York Hebrew, a trend setting Hebrew school community in the heart of lower Manhattan. Gillie is a passionate educator, delivers workshops, and is a consultant and mentor to many Jewish educators. Gillie’s two acclaimed curriculums “Jewish Heroes” and “Jewish Days” are used in hundreds of Hebrew school around the world. Gillie sits on the board of the Chabad’s International Conference for Shluchot and on the executive board of the Chabad Hebrew School HQ organization - CKids. Gillie is also passionate on the power of camps in the education of our youth, and is the director of Detroit Camp Gan Israel Teen Camp overnight camp. Gillie is a most proud of being a wife and a mother to her 8 children.
